Role Description

The Field Team Leader will remain an active field-based engineer whilst providing day-to-day supervision, coaching and leadership to the Field Engineers and Technicians within their team. Acting as the primary operational point of contact, the role provides technical guidance, allocates work, reinforces safety and quality expectations, and supports the Field Manager in monitoring performance and developing team members. Formal employee relations, disciplinary, capability and employment decisions remain with the Field Manager, supported by HR where appropriate.

This role will report directly to the Field Manager, Façade Access Solutions (UK)

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

• Continue to deliver the Field Engineer role, carrying out routine servicing, fault-finding, repairs, installation, testing and commissioning with all supporting documentation.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for the Field Engineers and Technicians assigned to the team.
• Lead, mentor and support team members to meet safety, quality, behavioural and performance expectations.
• Assign and delegate tasks according to team members’ competence, strengths and workload.
• Act as the first point of contact, mentor and coach for the team, communicating company goals, updates and expectations clearly.
• Facilitate regular team meetings and individual check-ins, providing relevant feedback to the Field Manager.
• Monitor day-to-day performance against agreed expectations and provide regular feedback, coaching and guidance.
• Support the Field Manager in recognising strong performance and managing performance, training needs and development plans.
• Resolve routine team and working relationship issues promptly, escalating formal or recurring matters to the Field Manager.
• Support the team to complete assigned projects and work on time, to quality standards and in line with KPIs.
• Enforce health and safety policies, deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks, and complete PPE inspections and associated paperwork.
