We're working with a major global semiconductor manufacturer to find a Field Technical Support Engineer to join their European regional office in Amsterdam.
This is an opportunity to move from design work into a customer-facing technical role at one of the most important companies in the chip industry, without giving up your technical edge.
The role
Our client's European office is the technical bridge between its customers and its manufacturing, design and support functions overseas. You'd be working with the Account Managers on a portfolio of customers, owning the technical relationship: translating customer design questions into the internal ecosystem (process design kits, design technology files, libraries, IP), and guiding customers through to a successful, first-time-right result.
You'll need real design credibility to earn trust in these conversations, but this isn't a heads-down design job. It's varied, genuinely collaborative, and puts you directly in front of some of the most advanced customers in the industry.

What you'll bring
- 3–5+ years' experience as an IC designer, ideally digital, back-end / physical implementation (place & route, timing sign-off, IR drop, power grid) is a strong plus, but front-end digital experience is also welcome
- Comfort with advanced-node / FinFET design, or strong exposure through PhD-level work with genuine tape-out experience.
- A genuine appetite for customer interaction.
- The versatility to move between deep technical detail and broader, sometimes administrative problem-solving
- A team-oriented working style — you'll thrive here if you enjoy collaborating closely with colleagues rather than working solo for long stretches
- Diplomacy and confidence: comfortable saying no to a customer, politely and clearly, when needed
