Field Technician
As a Field Technician, you will use a company vehicle to install, service and maintain Coinstar kiosks within an assigned territory. With input from your manager, you will plan and schedule your days, making adjustments as new priorities and tasks arise. You’ll work in an environment where route, daily tasks and priorities can (and will) change on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
- General preventative maintenance and daily cleaning of machines including first and second-line maintenance on kiosks in an assigned territory.
- Work in daily partnership with another Field Technician for the given area and wider team.
- Proactive store calls to carry out over the phone troubleshooting.
- Perform software installs and updates.
- Provide Electromechanical troubleshooting, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
- Manage parts orders and inventory.
- Properly manage and secure all assigned kiosks and company issued property such as car, phone, laptop, parts, tools, etc.
- Effectively route and plan the day based on kiosk data, service calls, field change orders, geography, and other priorities as assigned by your manager.
- Promote and maintain good customer relations through high standards of personal appearance, ethical behaviour, maturity, and good judgement.
- Display maturity and judgement in time management and expense control.
- Timely completion of administrative duties such as logging service calls, and completion of expense reports and time sheets.
- Work closely with the retail account manager and Customer Service teams to relay store and customer concerns/feedback, as well as assist with local scheduled promotions.
- Interface effectively with colleagues both internally and externally as well as manager and other departments to resolve customer problems and situations.
- Report quality problems and other technical problems through proper escalation channels.
- Carry out annual portable appliance testing (PAT) on Coinstar equipment.

Education & Experience
- An electrical or mechanical background is preferred, with experience in field service maintenance.
- Field service experience in troubleshooting and repair of computers and electromechanical devices.
- Previous experience in handling a position of responsibility with little or no supervision; must be able to carry out all responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Requires good working knowledge of computers and electromechanical devices.
- A basic background in computer hardware and software as well as a basic knowledge of computer controlled equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills focused on the customer and team success.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels inside and outside of our organisation.
- Accountable for providing support to customers that meet Coinstar’s standards of superior quality service and professionalism at all times.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and basic knowledge of current PC operating systems required.
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's licence and maintain an acceptable driving record; background checks will be required.
- As required, employees must work a flexible schedule including some early start times, including some holidays or weekends, etc.

- FULL, UK driving license required
Location & Business Travel
- Area: Belfast/Northern Ireland, United Kingdom
- Driving expectations – On the road approximately 25K miles per year
- Some overnight stays required (5% of time)
Pay & Benefits
The typical salary range for this position is £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and training.
