The Opportunity

We're working with a $2.4bn global engineering group specialising in electrical wires, cables, cable assemblies, wire harnesses and electro-mechanical solutions.
They are looking for a Technical Sales Executive to develop Northern England and Scotland.
This is a newly created, largely greenfield territory, giving you the opportunity to build a customer base and make the role your own.

The Role

You'll focus on:

  • Developing new business across Aerospace, Defence, Rail and Industrial markets.
  • Identifying and engaging engineering, procurement and commercial contacts.
  • Developing opportunities from initial contact through to sale.
  • Building and growing long-term customer relationships.
  • Understanding customer requirements and working with internal teams to develop solutions.
  • Managing your own territory, pipeline and customer activity.

About You

We're open to experienced external sales professionals or ambitious people looking to move into a field-based sales role.
You do not need to be an engineer. We're particularly interested in people who have worked in a manufacturing, engineering or technical product environment and are comfortable dealing with customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
