Filmmaker / Video Producer
6-month fixed-term contract (with genuine potential to extend) | Sunderland (office-based, with travel) | £38,500 PAYE + share options
About Us
OneClickComply is changing how businesses think about cybersecurity compliance. We've built a platform that automates the hard parts — technical control implementation, policy generation, continuous monitoring, and real-time audit evidence — so that achieving ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials, and CIS v8 takes weeks instead of months.
We're a multimillion-pound startup, backed and growing fast, based in Sunderland. Small team, no hierarchy, no red tape. We're building something genuinely interesting — and almost nobody outside our customer base knows it yet. That's the problem you'd be solving.
The Opportunity
This is a one-person video department, not a camera-operator gig.
We're bringing filmmaking in-house. You'll be the person who shoots, edits, and ships everything we put out — livestreams, long-form founder content, customer stories, vlogs, social cuts, and reels. You'll own the camera, the edit, and the output.
We're starting with a six-month fixed-term contract. That's deliberate — it gives you a proper runway to build something rather than scrambling to prove a point in twelve weeks, and it lets both of us find out whether this works before either commits further. If the content lands and the working relationship is right, we fully expect to extend. This isn't a project with a hard stop; it's a trial run at a permanent function.
You'll be embedded with the team, filming the founders as they build the company, sitting in on customer conversations, and turning all of it into content that gets watched. There's no brand guideline bible to follow and no committee to get past. You'll have genuine creative latitude and a direct line to the CEO.
If you want a showreel that isn't corporate wallpaper, this is the job.
The Kit
We provide camera, lighting, and a starting set of audio equipment — you won't be asked to fund the setup.
You're also very welcome to use your own gear if you prefer it. We're not precious about whose badge is on the body.
And because you'll know better than we do what the job actually needs: we want you to tell us what to buy. Part of this role is auditing what we've got, identifying the gaps, and specifying the kit that will make the output better. We have budget for it and we'd rather spend it on your recommendation than on a guess.
What You'll Be Doing
Long-form content
- Shoot and produce long-form video around the founding team — interviews, deep dives, walkthroughs, and behind-the-scenes documentary-style content
- Build a consistent output cadence rather than one-off set pieces
- Handle the full pipeline: pre-production, shoot, edit, colour, sound, delivery

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Livestreams
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot live broadcasts — webinars, product sessions, AMAs, and event streams
- Own the technical stack: cameras, audio, switching, encoding, and platform distribution
- Repurpose live footage into clips and highlights afterwards
Founder and team content
- Film regular vlog-style content following the founders through the actual business — client meetings, investor sessions, travel, events, and the messy bits in between
- Be comfortable filming on the move, in unfamiliar locations, at short notice
- Know when to press record and when to stay out of the way
Customer stories
- Plan, film, and edit customer case study videos and testimonials
- Put clients at ease on camera and get usable material from people who don't film for a living
- Travel to client sites across the UK as required
Social video and reels
- Cut vertical, short-form content for LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Understand platform-native formats — hooks, pacing, captions, and retention
- Turn one shoot into a dozen assets rather than one
Owning the function
- Advise on equipment purchases and build out our kit list as the function grows
- Manage kit, media, storage, and asset organisation
- Build a repeatable production process from scratch
- Work directly with the CEO, marketing, and sales on what gets made and why
What We're Looking For
Above all else: a portfolio that proves it, and the self-direction to run without a producer. This is a solo role. Nobody will be handing you a shot list.
Essential
- A portfolio or showreel submitted with your application — see below, applications without one won't be considered
- End-to-end capability — you shoot it, you edit it, you deliver it
- Confident camera operation, lighting, and audio — especially audio, which is where most corporate video falls apart
- Fluent in a professional edit suite — Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut
- Live streaming experience and comfort troubleshooting under pressure
- A genuine feel for short-form social — you understand why a reel works, not just how to cut one
- Enough technical knowledge to specify kit — you can look at a setup, spot what's missing, and justify the spend
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites and events
- Local to Sunderland or within comfortable commutable distance
Desirable
- Your own kit, if you'd rather work with equipment you know
- Motion graphics and titling — After Effects or similar
- Experience filming in B2B, tech, or SaaS environments
- Photography alongside video
- Any experience building a content function from nothing

How To Apply
A portfolio is mandatory. Applications without one won't be reviewed.
Send us:
- A link to your showreel or portfolio — Vimeo, YouTube, a personal site, or a shared drive folder, whatever you use
- At least one long-form piece and one short-form/vertical piece, so we can see both ends of your range
- A livestream example if you have one — a recording or a link is fine
- A short note telling us which piece you're proudest of, and what you'd do differently if you shot it again
We care far more about what you've made than where you made it. If your best work is a passion project rather than a client job, send that.
That last question is the job.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
