Finance Accounting Expert
Location: Remote
Engagement Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $130–$160/hour
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for experienced Accounting professionals interested in contributing to advanced AI evaluation and training projects. You will apply your accounting expertise to assess real-world accounting work, develop evaluation frameworks, and help improve the accuracy and reliability of next-generation AI systems.
Rather than preparing accounting deliverables yourself, you will define quality standards, create grading criteria, and evaluate completed work against professional accounting benchmarks.
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
- Background in audit, assurance, advisory, or senior accounting roles at public companies.
- Strong expertise in US GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit processes.
- Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional standards.

Responsibilities
- Design task-specific grading criteria for accounting deliverables and workflows.
- Evaluate AI-generated and human-produced accounting work samples.
- Review reconciliations, financial statements, disclosures, workpapers, and technical accounting memos.
- Provide detailed written justifications and feedback for evaluations.
- Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure scoring accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with reviewers and project teams to refine evaluation standards.
- Contribute to improving AI performance on complex accounting and financial reporting tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at Big Four or leading global accounting firms.
- Background in public company financial reporting and SEC compliance.
- Experience developing accounting policies, technical accounting guidance, or audit documentation.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation, data annotation, or human-review projects.
- Experience mentoring, reviewing, or managing accounting teams.
