The Role
The Finance Administration Assistant provides day-to-day administrative and transactional support to the Finance team. This role is offered on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover and is suitable for someone starting their career in finance or developing foundational finance and accounting skills.
The role focuses on supporting routine financial processes, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with basic finance administration tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Finance department.
Essential:
- Basic numeracy skills with good attention to detail.
- Organised and methodical approach to work, with the ability to follow processes accurately.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop finance-related skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role.
- A-levels, college qualification, or coursework in business, finance, or accounting.
- Interest in developing a career within finance or accounting.

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Finance team in line with established procedures.
- Assist with the processing, filing, and organisation of invoices, receipts, and financial documentation.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including logging invoices and chasing approvals where required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is correctly stored and filed.
- Assist with data entry into finance systems and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support bank reconciliations and basic checks under supervision.
- Help prepare information and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Respond to basic finance-related queries from internal teams, escalating where appropriate.
- Support the Finance team with general administrative tasks to ensure smooth monthly processes.
- Adhere to company Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental, and Financial control standards at all times
