We are seeking a Finance Administrator to join our team within an Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) firm. This role is integral to provide accounting, reconciliation, and operational support within our Principal Finance Team. The successful candidate will handle Transfer Agency (TA) cash settlements, client money reconciliations, and related finance activities, helping to ensure the accurate management of client and scheme cash movements and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. The role includes liaising with Client Operations and other internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve queries and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

Transfer Agency Trade and Deal Settlements

  • Process and reconcile Transfer Agency cash movements, including subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions.
  • Ensure settlement deadlines are met, and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Liaise with Transfer Agents, custodians, and internal stakeholders to support settlement activity and maintain accurate records.

Client Money Compliance and Regulation

  • Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily internal and external client money reconciliations in line with CASS requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of CMAR Returns and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain procedures and controls documentation, ensuring they remain accurate and up to date.

Finance Operations & Reporting

  • Prepare reconciliations and assist with financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare monthly Scheme annual management charge and administration invoices.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end finance activities and reporting processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in financial services finance operations, fund administration, or accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a qualification relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of client money reconciliations and FCA regulations; CASS experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively within tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

The Role

  • In office role.
  • 12 months fixed term contract.

The Company

We are a financial services business, specifically an Investment Manager and an Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) to several ranges of regulated retail funds totalling over £15Bn. The funds managed include multi-manager, direct equity, mixed investments, derivatives, and property.

An ACD is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to establish and manage Collective Investment Schemes (Funds). The responsibilities of an ACD include maintaining a register of investors, including the settlement of client money, arranging safe custody, and valuing the assets held by funds to create buying and selling prices of the funds. Margetts focusses on retail investors and also provides fund management to several ranges of Multi Manager funds.

We currently employ over 100 members of staff across multiple departments.
