Accounts Administrator

Cambridge | £31,500 + Excellent Benefits | Permanent

Are you an organised finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, systems and people? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail really matter?

We're recruiting for an Accounts Administrator to join one of the University of Cambridge Colleges, supporting the management of student and member accounts.

The Opportunity

This is a varied and rewarding finance administration role with responsibility for billing, fee administration, bank reconciliations, payment processing and financial reporting. Working closely with internal departments and external stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate management of accounts and the delivery of excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and issuing quarterly bills and invoices.
  • Processing high volumes of receipts and payments.
  • Managing bank account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and supporting debt collection processes.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and journals.
  • Supporting tuition fee administration and reporting.
  • Assisting with year-end audit requirements and financial reporting.
  • Producing financial analysis and management information.
  • Responding to account queries from a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within finance, accounts administration or transactional finance.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional customer-focused approach.
  • Experience within education, membership organisations or professional services environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
