Finance Administrator

Location: London

Reports To: Finance Manager / Account Director

Job Summary

BGIS is seeking a Finance Administrator to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Working within a busy facilities management environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, supporting invoicing activities, and assisting with month-end financial processes.

This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with both operational and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding of costs.
  • Raise customer invoices in line with contractual requirements.
  • Manage purchase orders and assist with invoice matching.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
  • Support the credit control process and monitor outstanding payments.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and databases.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and financial reconciliations.
  • Liaise with operational teams, suppliers, and customers regarding financial enquiries.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance administration duties.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Finance Administrator, Accounts Administrator, Purchase Ledger, or similar finance role.
  • Good understanding of finance processes and financial controls.
  • Experience using finance or ERP systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Experience within Facilities Management, Engineering Services, Property Services, or a contract-led environment would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • AAT qualification or working towards AAT is desirable but not essential.
