Overview
Penningtons Manches Cooper is a leading UK and international law firm which provides high quality legal advice tailored to both businesses and individuals. We address the specific objectives of each client through our flair and technical expertise and offer a personal service founded on a strong team ethic.
The COP Team have established a significant reputation for advising and assisting individuals, their families, carers, trustees, beneficiaries and other professionals on a broad range of issues arising from catastrophic personal injury, including serious brain injury with high value compensation awards. The team supports litigation lawyers throughout the conduct of the claim.
We work closely with the Court of Protection, the individual and their family to establish long-term relationships and to ensure all decisions are made in their best interests. Our aim is to relieve the pressure of financial decision making from family members, enabling them to continue to make the key choices and to support their relative on a day-to-day basis. Although our work largely focuses on financial management, we also become involved with welfare matters such as care funding, welfare benefits, deprivation of liberty special education and generally issues relating to capacity. The quality of work is both complex and rewarding undertaken within a dedicated growing team.

Responsibilities
- Managing the finance inbox;
- Uploading and cross-checking data following monthly credit card approval
- Residual balance on PMC to be cleared
- Preparing half yearly letters to Court Funds Office for balance statements and tracking and logging the updated financial figures
- Updating data following the annual statements on NS and I
- Requesting ad hoc statements requests from CFO and NS and I
- Maintaining, filing and assisting with queries on the utilities mailbox
- Assist with monthly money care statements and cross-checking receipts
- Assist with benefits account balances and reconciliation of annual expenses
- Monitor and assist with payments on Trust Bills
- Assist with cash flow monitoring
- Assist with all letters, utilities changes and documents for the change of deputyship and Trust matters and keep tracking log updated along with monthly update meetings with Finance Lead
- Update and maintain the OPG Supervision Tracking log
Ability to work independently and part of a team
The Finance Administrator will be expected to be able to undertake all of the tasks of the Cashier, as necessary, as follows:

- Paying invoices;
- Updating and maintaining financial system
- Highlighting balance queries;
- Payroll payments;
- Creating, cancelling and amending standing orders.
The Finance Administrator will be an ‘inputter’ for the purposes of online banking payments.
