We are seeking a motivated Finance Administrator to join our dedicated team at Venture People. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your finance and administration skills within an award-winning, person-centred organisation. Job Opportunity

Job Purpose

The Finance Administrator is responsible for the effective management and delivery of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. The role ensures accurate financial processing, timely payments and collections, compliance with statutory requirements, and the maintenance of strong financial controls. The post holder will support the wider finance function by providing financial information, reconciliations, and process improvements to ensure efficient business operations.

  • Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of outstanding liabilities.
  • Respond to supplier queries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.

Accounts Receivable

  • Oversee the accounts receivable process and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Monitor outstanding debt and follow up overdue payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve invoice queries.
  • Process and allocate customer receipts.
  • Produce aged debtor reports and support cash collection activities.
  • Assist in reducing aged debt and improving cash flow.

Payroll

  • Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee data.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pension regulations, and company policies.
  • Process payroll adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, deductions, and statutory payments.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and reports.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers.

Financial Control and Reporting

  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
  • Support the preparation of management information and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.

Essential Skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in an office or finance administration role is desirable
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well as part of a team

Experience with finance software or bookkeeping would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
