To provide accurate and timely transactional finance support across purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash management, and expenses, ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies and financial controls.

The role plays an important part in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records, supporting positive customer and supplier relationships, and ensuring the business has accurate and reliable financial information.

Role Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure supplier invoices are correctly coded and authorized in accordance with company policies and financial controls.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes where applicable.
  • Support the preparation and processing of supplier payment runs in accordance with agreed payment terms.
  • Assist with payment investigations and resolve supplier payment queries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with the processing of customer invoices and credit notes, ensuring transactions are accurate, appropriately authorized, and processed on time.
  • Support cash allocation activities, ensuring customer receipts are accurately allocated to the appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies, taking ownership of queries through to resolution.
  • Respond to customer queries relating to invoices, payments, and account balances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and customer account records within the finance system.
  • Perform regular supplier statement and customer account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively with Procurement, Commercial, and other internal stakeholders to resolve supplier and customer queries and support effective transactional finance processes.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage shared purchase ledger and sales ledger inboxes, responding to internal and external enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Support cashbook postings and the completion of weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
  • Review, approve, and process weekly expense claims through SAP Concur in accordance with company policy and approval requirements.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly reporting requirements, ensuring information is accurate and delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring purchase ledger, sales ledger, and other transactional finance information is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with the management of aged creditor and aged debtor balances, taking ownership of outstanding queries and following through to timely resolution.
  • Ensure all transactional finance activities comply with company policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider Transactional Finance Team as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems, and efficiency across the transactional finance function.
