Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with one of Gloucestershire's top employers to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Part-time Finance Administrator. Based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, this varied role will report directly to the Credit Manager to provide support to the credit team, including processing of electronic invoices, statements, credit notes & query resolution. The position is 24 hours per week spread over 4 or 5 days, hybrid working of one day on-site, four days remote, flexible start and finish times along with a competitive benefit scheme. This is a great opportunity to join a leading engineering group on a permanent basis where value can really be added.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve:

  • Uploading electronic invoices to customer portals & third-party systems
  • Responding to/resolving invoice queries via email
  • Issuing sales invoices
  • Processing credit notes following approval
  • Ensuring all documents are correctly recorded in various finance systems
  • Monitoring submission statutes
  • Sending payment reminders in line with credit control procedures
  • Processing customer statements
  • Supporting the Credit Manager & team with reducing overdue balances
  • Assisting with month-end routine reporting
  • Providing general finance administration support
  • Contributing to process improvement for the credit department

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this part-time flexible Financial Administrator role, you will need:

  • Experience with credit administration, finance or accounts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Accuracy with numerical data
  • Key time management skills
  • Strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships
  • Confidence using email systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel & Outlook)
  • Ability to manage workloads to deadlines with a proactive & reliable approach to work
  • Being a team player who can use their own initiative
  • Professional with a customer-focused manner

Advantageous but not essential:

  • Experience using portal systems
  • Working within a large manufacturing/engineering group

This permanent part-time Finance Administrator role offers:

  • A salary of £28,000 per annum, pro rata over 24 hours per week (ideally over 4 or 5 days per week)
