Finance Administrator

Location: North-West Glasgow

Contract: Initial 3-month contract, with the potential to extend

Rate: £19-£22 per hour, paid via an umbrella company

Hours: Full-time

Working pattern: Fully office-based or hybrid working available

Start date: ASAP

We are recruiting a Finance Administrator to provide administrative and transactional support to the finance team of a well-established housing organisation based in North-West Glasgow.

This is an initial three-month contract with the potential to extend. The role would suit an organised administrator who has experience handling financial information, processing payments and maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the finance team
  • Posting rent payments using the SDM housing management system
  • Processing and updating standing orders and Direct Debits
  • Recording Housing Benefit and Universal Credit payments
  • Allocating payments accurately to customer and rent accounts
  • Maintaining finance records, spreadsheets and internal systems
  • Responding to routine payment and account queries
  • Investigating discrepancies and ensuring records are updated
  • Processing correspondence and supporting general finance administration
  • Assisting the wider team with ad hoc administrative duties as required

About you

Previous administrative or finance experience within housing would be ideal, particularly if you have used SDM or another housing management system. However, candidates with broader administration experience involving payments, invoices, account records or financial data will also be considered.

You should have:

  • Previous experience in an administration, finance administration or accounts support role
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel and internal systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
  • Experience processing or recording payments and financial information
  • The ability to manage a varied administrative workload
  • Clear communication skills and a helpful, team-focused approach
  • Availability to start at short notice
