Finance Administrator/Sales Ledger (Billing & Credit Control) - Maternity Cover
📍 Location: Kincraig Business Park, Blackpool, FY2 0PJ
🕒 Hours: 25-30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
💷 Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

ICare Group is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Administrator / Sales Ledger Clerk to join our Finance Team on a maternity cover contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in finance administration, sales ledger, invoicing, or credit control who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and providing outstanding internal and external customer service.
As a key member of our Finance Team, you will help ensure the smooth running of our billing and credit control functions, supporting multiple companies across the ICare Group.
About The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the sales ledger and credit control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, validating and submitting weekly and monthly invoices
- Processing invoices for local authorities, private customers and other stakeholders
- Uploading invoices and claims to customer portals
- Maintaining accurate sales ledger records using Sage and other finance systems
- Allocating customer payments and remittances
- Investigating underpayments, missing payments and invoice discrepancies
- Producing and managing aged debt reports
- Chasing outstanding payments and providing updates to management
- Processing Direct Debit instructions and BACS payments
- Liaising with commissioners, customers and operational teams regarding invoice queries
- Supporting cash flow reporting and wider finance administration
- Carrying out weekly banking activities
- Assisting with departmental cover during annual leave and sickness
- Supporting continuous improvement of billing, reporting and credit control processes
- Undertaking Additional Administrative Duties As Required

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience in Sales Ledger, Credit Control, Finance Administration or Accounts Administration
- Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills
- Experience using financial/accounting software
- High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Fully checkable employment history
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
- Experience using Sage Accounts
- Experience within a care, healthcare or social care environment
- Finance, Administration Or Accountancy Qualifications
- Experience using invoicing portals and contract billing systems
