Company Description

Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor. We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders. We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income. Our Group Functions provide the services that all areas of the business need. This requires a talented and diverse team behind the scenes, who enable everyone at L&G to do what they do best. Joining us means helping to improve the lives of our customers and contributing to the success of the business every day.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Group Finance team and support the delivery of accurate expense, allocation and financial reporting. This is an opportunity to build your experience within a collaborative finance environment, gaining exposure to forecasting, VAT reporting, financial controls and continuous improvement.

You’ll provide insightful analysis, maintain accurate financial information and work closely with finance teams across the business. You’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge existing processes constructively and help improve the way we work.

Please note this is a fixed-term contract until December 2027.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Producing cost centre allocation reporting and supporting quarterly forecasting and annual planning cycles
  • Preparing reconciliations, VAT returns, reporting files and statutory returns
  • Reviewing accounting transactions and supporting the month-end close process
  • Delivering management information and analytical reporting relating to expenses, ledgers and allocations
  • Collaborating with divisional finance teams on expense ledger, fixed asset and allocation processes
  • Maintaining robust financial controls in line with Group standards, statutory requirements and the risk and control framework
  • Supporting internal and external audit activity by providing accurate information when required
  • Identifying and progressing process improvements, system upgrades and automation opportunities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
