Join the forefront of tissue diagnostics and help shape the future of cancer pathways across the West Midlands and Wales.

Proclinical is seeking a Finance Analyst to join a dynamic team in Basingstoke, UK, on a hybrid working model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). This role focuses on financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for the Northern European Hub, providing actionable insights to support decision-making and operational performance. You will also contribute to modernizing processes by leveraging AI tools and automation to streamline workflows.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Support annual business planning and ongoing forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with objectives.
  • Maintain and improve forecast models, tracking accuracy and recommending enhancements.
  • Analyze key performance drivers and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Challenge assumptions and support decisions with robust financial analysis.
  • Assist budget owners in understanding spend variances and forecast accuracy.

Reporting & Month-End Activities:

  • Prepare month-end reports and commentary in line with accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership on forecasts, highlighting deviations from plans.
  • Support ad hoc analyses, business cases, and project requests as needed.

Business Partnering & Collaboration:

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted financial advisor.
  • Collaborate with teams such as Marketing, Supply Chain, and HR on financial initiatives.
  • Utilize AI tools like Claude to enhance analysis, draft commentary, and streamline processes.
  • Identify and automate repetitive tasks using tools like Power Query, in line with company policies.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power Query, Power BI, or scripting (e.g., VBA, Python) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with generative AI tools for analysis, drafting, or modeling is advantageous.
  • Interest in automation and improving efficiency in repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with SAP-SAC systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in financial planning, analysis, accounting, or a similar field.
