Finance Analyst, Cost and Capital

Your new role
The Analyst role within the Cost & Capital Commercial Finance team is your opportunity to deliver insight and support transformative change to help shape the future of Global. This role focuses on driving cost and capital performance by building robust analysis, improving reporting, and supporting planning, investment and efficiency initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, you’ll play an important role in helping Global allocate resources effectively, add value and deliver against its strategic priorities.
As a Finance Analyst at Global, you will:
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance Partnering (25%)
Act as a trusted finance partner to the business, providing financial insight, analysis and constructive challenge to support commercial decision-making. Support ad hoc projects, business cases and investment decisions through financial modelling and analysis. -
Cost and capital analysis & optimisation (30%)
Produce cost (staff and non-staff) and capital analysis, including investment appraisal, productivity metrics and ROI analysis. Provide financial oversight and challenge, partnering with business teams and Procurement to identify cost optimisation opportunities and track delivery of savings.

Planning, reporting and performance insight (25%)
Support budgeting & forecasting for cost and capital, providing clear analysis, performance tracking and financial reporting. Develop dashboards and metrics that give leaders actionable insight on performance, investment, risks, cash flow and returns. -
Capital governance, systems and process improvement (20%)
Support capital reporting and governance, including spend tracking and risk management across major capital programmes. Contribute to finance systems, data and process improvements to enhance the quality, automation and accessibility of financial insight.

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
- Developed a strong understanding of Global’s operating model, cost base, capital base and strategic priorities, enabling you to identify key business drivers quickly
- Built robust financial datasets and models that improve visibility of performance and support better decision-making
- Turned data into clear, actionable insights to help leaders understand financial performance key drivers and efficiency opportunities
- Built trusted relationships across the business, becoming a valued finance partner on cost, capital and investment decisions
- Supported cost optimisation and transformation initiatives as part of the wider team, helping improve efficiency
- Strengthened financial governance and insight across cost and capital management to support effective resource allocation

What You’ll Need

Analytical skills
Strong financial analysis, modelling and Excel skills with the ability to work with complex data and extract insights -

Career Focused
Recently qualified, or equivalent experience, ideally from industry or professional services, with a strong desire to grow in Commercial Finance
