About the role
Our Star Pubs Commercial Finance team plays a key role in helping one of the UK's largest leased and tenanted pub businesses make informed commercial decisions. Working closely with finance and business stakeholders, we provide insightful reporting, support planning and forecasting, and help ensure the business delivers against its financial ambitions.
You'll support the financial reporting and management of the Star Pubs cost base. You'll play an important role in month end activities, forecasting, planning and business partnering, helping to provide the insight needed to drive informed decisions across the business.
Key responsibilities will include monthly management accounting, reporting and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, risk and opportunity tracking, process improvement and stakeholder management across Finance and the wider Star Pubs business.

A key part of the role is building strong relationships with your stakeholders, providing clear financial insight and helping colleagues understand financial performance, risks and opportunities. You'll also support a strong control environment, ensuring the integrity of financial information and reporting.
Who we’re looking for?
We're looking for someone who is ideally part-qualified, or working towards their professional qualification, with strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset. You'll enjoy working with people across the business and be comfortable turning financial information into practical insight.
If you have:
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with financial data.
- The ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Good organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- The confidence to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly and simply.
- A proactive approach and a willingness to challenge and improve existing processes.
- An interest in understanding how the Star Pubs business operates.
