Job Description
Job Title: Finance Analyst – Trent Fleet
Location: Derby/Hybrid
Working Pattern: Full Time / Permanent
Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for the Finance Analyst to play a key role within the TFME program finance team.
As a Finance Analyst you will be a member of a small team reporting into the TFME (Trent Fleet and Mature Engines) program finance business partners (FBPs). Your role will specifically focus on supporting the Finance team’s delivery of forecasts, reporting and risk management, which will enable the business to predict and control this critical value stream. Working across functions you’ll develop key skills and knowledge and support the management of some of the biggest income streams in the company.
We are seeking motivated, passionate individuals who are looking to develop their business partnering skills, with a view to being able to deputise for the FBP on an ad hoc basis to gain experience and exposure within the value stream.
What you will be doing
- Working closely with the FBPs to support rolling forecasts – comprising operational drivers and challenging inputs where appropriate. We will be looking to you to pull together the forecast and create the story before the numbers pass to the FBPs.
- Supporting the service business contract review pack cycles ensuring we aren’t exposed to risk/confirm finances are accurate and able to be used as a foundation for in year profit recognition.
- Own the contract modification database ensuring all contractual change treatments are agreed with the Chief Accountant. This will require you to work cross functionally and directly with the Chief Accountant, the output of which will be shared with PWC each half year.
- You will own the preparation of the month end analysis and presentational material, working closely with T&M and TCA to ensure the analysis is clear and insightful. This will then ultimately be consumed the SVP Finance Trent Fleet & Mature Engines, the SVP Contract Management - Trent Fleet Services and other key business stakeholders.
- Acting as deputy for the FBPs in level 1s where appropriate
- Acting as deputy in month end review processes when appropriate

Position Qualifications:

- Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience.
- Highly numerate, a problem solver and possessing strong analytical skills.
- Evidenced influencing skills, working with numerous senior stakeholders preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Excel is essential.
- Actuals reporting and forecasting experience is essential whilst IFRS15/Total Care/Time and Material reporting experience would be beneficial.
- A strong team-player with experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Energy and drive – a self-starter, prepared to challenge the status quo and proactively identify/implement process improvements.
