Job Title: Financial Analyst

Location

Hybrid – Hemel Hempstead or Solihull (working in our head office 2-3 weekly)

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.

With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 5 production facilities and 16 logistics depot’s servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.

About the role

As a Finance Analyst in Financial Control, you will play a key role in maintaining a strong financial control environment and ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of fixed assets and leases.

You will take ownership of day-to-day fixed asset and lease accounting activities, including setting up assets on the fixed asset register, reviewing capital expenditure and supporting the monthly close and reporting process. Working closely with supply chain, project managers and other stakeholders, you will help to ensure that expenditure is appropriately classified and capitalised in line with the relevant accounting policies. Furthermore, you will coordinate internal controls reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submissions and assist with the statutory reporting and external audit.

Role Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal controls reporting, monitor timely completion and follow up overdue or incomplete submissions.
  • Review control evidence for completeness and consistency, maintaining clear documentation and audit trails.
  • Support the investigation and remediation of control deficiencies and help embed a strong financial control culture.
  • Set up new assets and projects within the fixed asset register and maintain accurate asset master data.
  • Review capital expenditure and supporting documentation to assess whether costs meet capitalisation criteria.
  • Partner with supply chain, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure expenditure is correctly classified and accounted for in line with policy.
  • Monitor assets under construction and ensure assets are capitalised when available for use.
  • Process and review asset transfers, disposals, retirements and physical verification activities.
  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end accounting for property, plant and equipment, intangible assets and leases.
  • Prepare depreciation, amortisation and other relevant accounting entries and reconcile supporting records to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reporting and analysis, including commentary on material movements, risks and actions.
  • Support half-year, year-end, statutory and Group reporting and respond to audit queries.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate fixed asset, lease and controls processes.
  • Maintain process documentation and provide practical guidance to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support finance transformation and other ad-hoc projects, while role-modelling Carlsberg Britvic’s values.

Experience and Key Attributes

  • Experience in financial accounting, financial control or a relevant finance role.
  • Practical understanding of fixed asset accounting.
  • Experience of balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting.
  • Experience of internal controls, audit support or compliance reporting would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to investigate variances and communicate clear conclusions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Confident working with finance and non-finance stakeholders, including Supply Chain business partners and project owners.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience using SAP would be advantageous.
