Important notice*
The National Trust does not offer sponsorship. We welcome applicants with right to work in UK, but we are unable to offer any form of visa sponsorship.
We're looking for two Finance Analysts to join our Finance Planning & Insight team
This is an exciting opportunity to use your analytical skills to turn data into meaningful insight that helps shape decisions with long-term forward-looking impact across one of the UK's largest conservation charities.
Working closely with Senior Finance Analysts and Finance Business Partners, you'll analyse financial performance, develop financial models, investigate trends, and provide high-quality insight that supports both operational and strategic decision-making across the Trust.
What It's Like To Work Here
You'll be joining a collaborative and supportive team who deliver insight, challenge thinking, and drive continuous improvement. Working across regional and national teams, you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to important organisational decisions.
Your contractual location will be our financial service centre in Trowbridge and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll support the delivery of high-quality financial analysis, reporting and insight that helps leaders understand performance and make informed decisions. Acting as a key link between finance data and business operations, you'll translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations.
- Produce financial analysis that identifies and explains key trends, risks and opportunities, while developing financial models and scenario analysis to support both strategic and operational decision-making.
- Help investigate financial performance, providing recommendations that improve understanding and drive better outcomes.
- Create reports, dashboards and visualisations that communicate insights effectively to both finance and non-finance audiences, while identifying opportunities to enhance financial processes, reporting capabilities and analytical tools.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
