Netherbrook Primary School, part of The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust (TEFAT), is seeking to appoint a Finance and Administration Assistant to join our amazing team from October 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of enthusiastic, hardworking and caring teaching and support staff, who work together to create a purposeful learning environment, where everyone can succeed.

We have a well-developed induction programme and we support new staff effectively, through appropriate training and the sharing of best practice.

Supporting the School Business Manager, the main duties will include:

  • Raising orders and processing payments
  • Administration of the school cashless systems
  • Managing trips, consents and payments.
  • Processing income.
  • Responsibility for the ordering and sales of uniform/stationery.

You will be:

  • Flexible in support of general office tasks.
  • Have the ability to follow set procedures and complete work to the required standards of accuracy and presentation.
  • Able to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work in a busy and varied environment, be efficient and highly competent in using ICT packages and have the ability to work on your own initiative. A strong proven track record in finance administration, preferably in a school setting, and a good knowledge of school MIS and finance systems is desirable but not essential.

This is a part time role (20 hours per week), term time plus three weeks initially, with the possibility of an increase in hours in the future.

The current working hours are:

  • Monday - 11am - 4pm
  • Tuesday - 8am - 1pm
  • Wednesday - 9:30am - 2:30pm
  • Friday - 10:30am - 3:30pm

You may be required to change your hours sometimes on an ad-hoc basis to meet business needs, and some flexibility may be offered to the right candidate with regard to working hours and days, as long as business needs can be met.

Visits to the school are encouraged. Please contact Marcia Leigh (School Business Manager) on 01384 818415 from 1st September onwards, if you would like to visit the school.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children, therefore the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check.
