This is a broad, hands-on finance and administration leadership role, responsible for ensuring that CMA’s finances, statutory reporting, audit process, payroll oversight, financial controls and core administrative arrangements are well managed and clearly reported to the CEO and Board.

KEY DUTIES

  • Attend bi-monthly board meetings to present financial information.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102) and applicable accounting standards.
  • Process sales and purchase invoices/payments in Sage 50 Accounts and raise and input monthly journals. Maintain fixed asset registers.
  • Manage banking relationships, treasury activities and cash requirements including ensuring prompt payment from customers and to suppliers/contractors.
  • Working with our auditors (BDO), ensure the prompt completion of the annual audit and board approval of statutory accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies House and other statutory filings.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and review and approve annual corporation tax filings.
  • Submit monthly salary information and approve salaries prepared by outsourced payroll providers.
  • Management of the CMA administrative team including day-to-day supervision, setting annual objectives, conducting annual performance appraisals and maintaining job descriptions.
  • Maintain Staff Handbook and company HR policies and advise CEO and colleagues on basic HR matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
