Finance & Debt Administrator

We are seeking an organised, personable Finance & Debt Administrator to join our team at Hamilton Specialist Referrals on a full-time, fixed term basis.
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and approachable person who is a great team player but is also able to self-motivate. The successful candidate will have previous experience of operating in a fast-paced environment, a strong understanding of financial principles and a keen interest in debt management, proficiency in using spreadsheets and financial software for data analysis and reporting, including building and presenting data reports, and experience and understanding of insurance processes.
We are a hospital designed for excellence. Situated just outside of High Wycombe (J4, M40), Buckinghamshire, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR) is a purpose-built, veterinary hospital that provides specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation facility.
The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with dedicated Anaesthesia and Out-of-Hours teams, and can offer treatment options for Orthopaedic, Neurology, Soft Tissue Surgery and Internal Medicine cases.
How You’ll Make a Difference
This is a varied administrative role combining insurance claims processing with debt management and general office responsibilities, helping to support both our clients and the wider practice team.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on administration and management of all of our debt processes
- Liaising with clients and insurance companies
- Tracking and reporting of data
- Providing cover on the front desk as required
- Answering phones and completing other admin tasks as required

Working Pattern
- This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday. Shifts are varied, with a 30-minute unpaid break, working hours between 08:00 and 20:00.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
We're looking for someone with experience in the veterinary profession who is confident, organised and able to manage a varied workload. You'll have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and always put clients and patients at the heart of everything you do.
Other requirements include:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling financial information, data entry, documentation and account records.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies or errors promptly and accurately.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records and adapt to changing business needs across finance, debt and Client Care responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and external parties both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, particularly when dealing with busy periods, challenging conversations or competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use initiative, investigate issues and find practical solutions rather than simply identifying a problem.
- A flexible and collaborative approach, willing to support colleagues and step between finance, debt and Client Care responsibilities as required.

Salary
£28,000 - £30,000 a year Up to £30,000 per annum
