Finance & Operations Assistant
Location: City of London
Salary: Up to £32,000
Working Pattern: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance & Operations Assistant to join a growing, high-performing business based in the heart of the City of London. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance within a supportive and collaborative environment.
You'll work closely with experienced finance professionals, gaining exposure across finance, operations and business administration while receiving structured training and genuine opportunities for career progression. The business is happy to support AAT studies (or further professional qualifications) for the right individual.
This role would suit a "second jobber" with around 12-18 months' experience in a finance or accounts support position who is eager to continue developing their skills.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Raising customer invoices and maintaining billing records
- Managing credit control and following up on outstanding payments
- Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with payroll administration
- Supporting month-end finance processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

Operations & Administration
- Providing general administrative support across the business
- Assisting with compliance and internal documentation
- Maintaining company records and ensuring information is up to date
- Supporting operational processes and continuous improvements
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Assisting with ad hoc projects as required
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and genuinely interested in building a career in finance.
You'll ideally have:
- Around 12-18 months' experience in a finance, accounts or accounting support role
- A genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career within finance
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Good communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across the business
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
Desirable
- AAT qualified or currently studying AAT (not essential)
- Experience with payroll, reconciliations, invoicing or credit control
