About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a keen, self-motivated colleague to join our friendly team where you will be primarily responsible for supporting our Finance function.

We are looking for someone with strong organisational and interpersonal skills, who is happy to take on a flexible and varied workload and eager to learn along the way.

Key Responsibilities

Daily

  • Invoicing for each of the four brands
  • Updating cashflow (in alignment with the CRM)
  • Paying suppliers
  • Updating Xero
  • Bank reconciliation

Weekly

  • Checking debtors / chasing overdue customers
  • Credit card reconciliations

Monthly

  • Month end reporting
  • Management KPI reporting
  • Processing expense claims
  • Releasing deferred income to Xero
  • Managing the Emergenetics annual licence fee process

Quarterly

  • Preparing VAT return/HMRC upload

Annually

  • Supporting preparation of year end draft accounts
  • Preparing company social value reporting
  • Preparing company carbon footprint data
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the annual budgeting process

Ongoing

  • Contributing to continuous process improvement

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • Effective time management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Xero or other accounting software

Role Details

We are looking to recruit somebody on a part-time basis. Hours and work location are flexible however you will need to be able to attend our Cambridge office 1-2 days per week.

Dependent upon level of experience
