Finance Assistant (1-Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems and helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes? We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join Lomond on a 1-month fixed-term contract in Edinburgh. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you'll earn between £25,000 and £26,000 and benefit from a Monday to Friday working pattern with 2 days working from home each week.
At Lomond, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our finance function. This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading property services groups, helping ensure invoices, payments and financial records are processed accurately while providing valuable support to colleagues across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Raising and issuing VAT invoices accurately and on time
- Allocating customer receipts to the correct accounts and nominal codes to maintain accurate financial records
- Processing card payments and responding to incoming finance enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting colleagues with queries relating to invoices, payments and KPIs
- Raising and issuing monthly pro forma invoices for properties under offer
- Working with branches to gather supporting documentation, including contracts and proof of ownership
- Reviewing card receipts and transferring funds appropriately to support accurate allocations
- Investigating disputed debts and supporting resolutions with customers
- Preparing documentation for unpaid debts referred to external debt collection solicitors
- Providing wider support across the finance team, including holiday cover and other activities that contribute to the smooth running of the department

What You'll Need

- Experience in a similar role or within a finance environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
- Experience working with administrative systems and procedures
