Finance Assistant

Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems and seeing the impact of your work? As our team continues to grow, we're looking for a motivated Finance Assistant to help support a range of essential financial processes within a friendly and collaborative environment.

No two days are quite the same in this role. You'll support activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial administration, reconciliations and reporting, helping to ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time. You'll gain experience across a wide range of finance functions while working in a structured environment that encourages development and continuous learning.

Working closely with colleagues who are committed to supporting one another, you'll become part of a team built on trust, collaboration and a shared commitment to delivering great service.

This is a 12m FTC hybrid role with Newport as your base location, and you will be required to attend the office two days per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Processing and supporting a range of finance activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash administration and accounting tasks.
  • Ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved through effective workload management and accurate processing.
  • Taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities and escalating more complex issues where required.
  • Supporting finance period close activities, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and journal processing.
  • Investigating queries from customers and third parties, resolving issues where possible and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Contributing to continuous service improvement by identifying issues, providing feedback and supporting the production of key financial information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
