Finance Assistant
Location: Kidderminster
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Office-based during probation, then hybrid working available (2 days working from home)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a successful and growing manufacturing organisation based in Kidderminster. This role offers the chance to become part of a friendly and supportive finance team, where you will gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities while contributing to the smooth running of the department.
This position would suit an experienced Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger professional looking to develop their skills within a stable business offering long-term career prospects, flexible working and an attractive benefits package.
Your new role
- Processing a high volume of supplier invoices and matching them to purchase orders
- Managing supplier accounts and resolving invoice queries
- Performing monthly supplier statement reconciliations
- Preparing and processing BACS, Faster Payments and international payments
- Completing regular bank reconciliations
- Processing employee expenses and company credit card claims
- Managing timesheet administration and reporting
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Assisting with audit preparation and finance reporting requirements
- Providing general finance and administrative support to the wider team

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger role
- Good understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
- AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT
- Experience using ERP or finance systems
- Exposure to multi-currency transactions
