Role Description

This full-time, on-site Finance Assistant role is based in Basingstoke. The Finance Assistant supports day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reconciliations. The role involves preparing and updating accounting entries, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and helping monitor cash flow and expense tracking.

The Finance Assistant collaborates with internal teams and external partners to resolve queries, ensure timely payments, and maintain compliance with internal controls and financial procedures. This position requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, with the ability to support routine financial transactions and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Invoicing processes, including invoice preparation, verification, and reconciliation.
  • Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify variances, and support decision-making.
  • Clear and professional Communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP software and intermediate MS Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) are beneficial.
  • Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field (e.g., AAT level or equivalent) preferred.
  • Ability to work accurately with numerical data, manage multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Previous experience in financial administration, banking, or a similar role within a commercial environment is an advantage.
