Finance Assistant

Ready to take the next step in your finance career within a supportive and collaborative team? We're looking for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join our growing team, where you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality financial services that make a real difference.

This is a varied opportunity that will give you exposure to a broad range of finance activities, from accounts payable and receivable processes to reconciliations, financial administration and budgeting support. Working alongside experienced colleagues in a structured and fast-paced environment, you'll build valuable knowledge across multiple finance disciplines while contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

You'll be joining a team that values teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement, where everyone works together to achieve shared goals and deliver excellent service to our client.

This is a permanent hybrid role with Newport as your base location, and you will be required to attend the office two days per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved through effective workload management and accurate processing.
  • Taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities and escalating more complex issues where required.
  • Supporting finance period close activities, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and journal processing.
  • Investigating queries from customers and third parties, resolving issues where possible and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Contributing to continuous service improvement by identifying issues, providing feedback and supporting the production of key financial information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
