Finance Assistant – Hayes, Middlesex

£26,000–£34,000 per annum | Hybrid Working – 4 Days Office Based

About the Client

Wade Macdonald is working with an established international organisation within the Retail sector on the appointment of a Finance Assistant. Based in Hayes, this is a successful business with a strong UK presence and a supportive, collaborative working environment.

They are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working as part of a team and developing their skills. The culture is friendly and approachable, with opportunities to learn and gain exposure across different areas of finance.

About the Job

This is a varied Finance Assistant role, primarily focused on employee expenses and financial administration, alongside supporting the wider finance function. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will gain experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and month-end activities.

Duties will include:

  • Managing employee expenses, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with company procedures.
  • Overseeing corporate credit cards, including reconciliations and employee queries.
  • Preparing expense reports and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Administering company vehicle information, fuel cards and commercial contracts.
  • Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities, including invoices, payments and account queries.
  • Assisting with month-end reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements.
  • Helping to improve finance processes and supporting the wider team with additional projects.

About the Successful Applicant

You will have previous experience in a finance or accounts support role, with good Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Experience across purchase and sales ledger, expense systems or month-end activities would be beneficial. You will be organised, proactive and approachable, with good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop within a wider finance team.

What You Will Receive in Return

You will receive a salary of £26,000–£34,000, alongside a varied role offering genuine opportunities to develop your finance experience. Benefits include study support, 25 days' holiday, private healthcare, pension, staff discounts, a complimentary product after a qualifying period and subsidised office lunches.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with four days based in the Hayes office and Fridays working from home.
