THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY
Finance Assistant; Purchase Ledger & F&B Controller Part Time – 20 hours per week over 4–5 days
Our hotel is home to unforgettable high-profile VIP functions, luxury affiliations, leisure and events, stylish private dinners and professional conferences. We are now seeking a detail-driven and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team, reporting to the Director of Finance.
This role is essential in supporting the financial heartbeat of the hotel—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and seamless financial operations across purchase ledger, commission control and food & beverage finance administration.
We opened the first 5* Hotel in Liverpool; The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery in May 2023 and have reset the clock within this historic building, bringing it back to life. Our Heartists® aspire to create memorable, heartfelt moments for all life enjoyers to experience unique stories from the past but also to immerse themselves into our hospitality, creating their own astonishing tales of MGallery magical moments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCE ASSISTANT AT THE MUNICIPAL HOTEL & SPA MGALLERY
What you’ll be doing…
Purchase Ledger Administration
- Process supplier invoices through the Procure Wizard system
- Monitor goods received records
- Complete supplier statement reconciliations
- Prepare journals for SUN accounting system
- Assist with preparing payment runs
Commission Control
- Validate commission claims
- Manage and maintain the commission log
- Prepare commission accrual reports and journals
Food & Beverage Finance Administration
- Produce daily GP flash analysis reports
- Monitor pricing discrepancies
- Support stock control reporting
- Assist with menu engineering and cost analysis
- Prepare information for monthly external stock taker visits
Finance Administration
- Order and record hotel stationery
- Support cashiering, revenue reporting and sales ledger activity
- Assist with Payroll/HR administration as required
- Support the Director of Finance with month-end accounts processes

What We Need From You
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with accounting software
Preferred: AAT Level 2 or above; hospitality experience
Desirable: Procure Wizard, Opera PMS, SUN Systems
