Location: London Working pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office) Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience.

We are looking for a proactive and high performing Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team and support with the day-to-day finance operations.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join the team and support the agency's finance function.

You will be responsible for end to end AP and AR processes, daily cash and banking, and credit control, while providing hands on support to the Head of Finance across management accounts preparation, budgeting, forecasting and the annual audit.

You will be able to demonstrate your attention to detail and your excellent communication skills when dealing with high profile brands and projects, and showcase your enthusiasm, confidence, and tact when dealing with both senior business and finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly consolidated accounts (P&L, Gross Profit and Balance Sheet), including data gathering and liaising with Client Services and budget holders for supporting context
  • Prepare variance analysis by preparing schedules and highlighting notable movements for review by the Head of Finance
  • Prepare and coordinate information for client pipeline meetings, ensuring accurate and timely data to support billing decisions
  • Assist with VAT return preparation and submission
  • Support the annual audit process, including preparing schedules and pulling supporting documentation as required
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales and purchase invoices
  • Weekly Timesheet Analysis
  • Perform daily cash & banking duties
  • Manage credit control for all debtors and escalate issues as and when required
  • Ensure payments are made accurately and with appropriate authorisation
  • Process expense claims for staff on a timely basis
  • Promptly answer and resolve queries from clients, suppliers, and internal departments
  • Work with customers to resolve open reconciliation issues
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc duties and project work

Skills required

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar finance/accounts role, with hands on AP, AR and bank reconciliation experience
  • Studying towards, or with an interest in progressing towards, a professional accounting qualification
  • Experience in an agency environment desirable
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to efficiently multi-task
  • Systems knowledge of Xero and Excel required
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and willing team player
  • Arabic speaking, and exposure to cross border working would be hugely beneficial
