Finance Assistant
Location: Southwest London, Hybrid Working (3 Days in Office)
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 + Excellent Benefits
Full-time | Permanent
An international organisation is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join its collaborative finance team based in Southwest London. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys transactional finance and wants a role centred on banking, cash activity, and accurate day-to-day finance.
You will take ownership of several finance tasks, from reconciling bank accounts and allocating receipts through to resolving payment issues and keeping ledger data accurate. Alongside, you will contribute to month-end, expenses, audit support, and wider finance projects.
Key Responsibilities for the Finance Assistant role:
- Accounts Payable reconciliations
- Reconcile company credit card approvals, receipts, and system queries
- Reconcile company bank accounts and make sure cash is posted to the correct accounts
- Investigate differences and follow them through to resolution
- Manage online banking and payment systems
- Investigate unsuccessful payments and coordinate the actions needed to correct them
- Post journal entries and other adjustments required to keep the ledgers accurate
- Prepare recurring finance information and schedules for internal reporting
- Support the employee card and expense process, helping colleagues with approvals, receipts, and system queries
- Keep finance documentation well organised and provide support with audit, compliance, and ad-hoc finance activity

About You for the Finance Assistant role:
- Previous experience covering cash, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or a similar area
- Hands-on experience of bank reconciliations and allocating transactions
- Understanding the importance of accurate ledger records
- Strong excel
- Able to manage deadlines
- Confident investigating issues
- A proactive approach to improving processes, adapting when priorities or procedures change
- Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, month-end, or audit work would be advantageous
