Job Title: Finance Assistant in Harpenden
About the Role
As a Finance Assistant in Harpenden, you'll support the accounting and finance team by handling day-to-day financial tasks that keep things running smoothly. This role in the professional services industry is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers and ensuring accuracy in financial records.

Description
- Provide general administrative support, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining client records.
- Assist with processing invoices, expenses, and other financial documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organised electronic and paper filing systems.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and client documentation.
- Assist with data entry and ensure information is accurately recorded across internal systems.
- Liaise with clients and suppliers, responding to queries and directing requests as appropriate.
- Support financial administration, including bank reconciliations and tracking payments.
- Assist the accounting team with ad hoc finance and bookkeeping tasks.
- Help ensure records are maintained in line with company processes and compliance requirements.

Profile
A Successful Finance Assistant Should Have
- Previous experience in an administrative, office support, or coordination role.
- A finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or related background, qualification, or strong interest in finance.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling data and documentation.
- Good numerical skills and confidence working with financial information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential client and financial information.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience using accounting software or CRM systems would be advantageous but is not essential.

Job Offer
- Salary ranging from £31,000 to £35,000, dependent on the level of experience.
- Permanent position in Harpenden.
