We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant.
The Finance Assistant provides day-to-day support to the Management Accountant. The role is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with reconciliations, accruals, and month-end tasks. The Finance Assistant also contributes to supplier payments, expense processing, and intercompany recharges, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial operations.

Financial Operations
- Reconcile and process client payments accurately and on time.
- Generate and issue bank remittances.
- Complete client account bank reconciliations in Sage.
- Process and validate cost of sales against revenue.
- Reconcile supplier statements and prepare supplier payment runs.
- Manage the purchase ledger inbox, ensuring timely processing of invoices and queries.
- Process internal staff expense claims.
Month-End & Year-End Support
- Prepare and post accruals and prepayments.
- Assist the Management Accountant with intercompany recharges.
- Support month-end and year-end close by providing reconciliations and schedules.
- Provide information and documentation to support audits.
Continuous Improvement & Team Support
- Contribute to system development, process improvements, and project work.
- Cross-train across finance tasks to provide cover when required.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across finance and the wider business.

Requirements:
- Ability to work with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- AAT qualification or working towards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (ideally Sage 200).
- Experience with reconciliations and general ledger functions.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Previous experience supporting month-end or year-end reporting.
- Experience in a commercial, service-led, or property-related business.
