Client Details
This is a varied finance role covering a range of day-to-day accounting activities, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end activities. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the wider finance team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the function.
Description
The key responsibilities of a Finance Assistant will be:
- Manage purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
- Process invoices, payments, and journals accurately and efficiently.
- Complete bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Reconcile supplier and customer statements.
- Respond to member queries relating to payments.
- Support month-end activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
- Ensure financial records are accurate and transactions are processed within deadlines.
- Support the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting and administration.

Profile
A Successful Finance Assistant Will Have:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role, with strong purchase and sales ledger knowledge.
- Good understanding of bank reconciliations.
- Confident using Excel and comfortable working with accounting systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies and queries.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- A reliable, collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider finance team.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous.
