Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Finance Assistant to work within the Lincolnshire Police Force
Location: Nettleham, Lincoln
Contract Type: Temporary
Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate: £12.83 per hour
End Date: October 2027
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Exchequer Assistant to join their Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the efficient management of financial transactions within the public sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality exchequer service across the Authority.
Key Responsibilities
As an Exchequer Assistant, your duties will include:
- Processing creditor invoices promptly and accurately to ensure timely payments.
- Investigating and resolving complex queries related to invoices by liaising with both internal and external contacts.
- Undertaking HQ Cashier duties and processing petty cash returns, ensuring all costs are appropriately documented.
- Issuing petty cash upon request and managing any returns in compliance with established procedures.
- Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations as required.
- Processing Purchase Orders and managing purchases where applicable.
- Facilitating the setup of new suppliers, making informed decisions, and coordinating with internal and external contacts.
- Managing firearms refunds and processing Boarding Up invoices, investigating each incident accordingly.
- Booking travel and hotel accommodations and addressing any related queries.
- Resolving exchequer-related inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Ensuring all exchequer processes adhere to predetermined timelines.
- Promoting best practices in exchequer matters across the organisation, providing training and guidance to personnel as needed.

Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide exceptional support to colleagues and external partners.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with financial systems and processes is advantageous.
