FDM Group is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our Brighton-based Finance Team as a Finance Assistant.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Finance Assistant will sit within the Finance team with a primary focus on reconciliations and financial accuracy across international client accounts.

The role involves working with a portfolio of international clients who pay via self-bill, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of client remittances to internally raised invoices, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining the integrity of the sales ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed reconciliations of client remittances to sales ledger invoices, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, short payments, and allocation issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate cash allocation and account balance positions across international ledgers
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of international clients from a reconciliation and query resolution perspective
  • Work closely with billing, sales, and operational teams to resolve root causes of reconciliation differences
  • Improve and streamline reconciliation processes, controls, and reporting
  • Support month-end processes including ledger reviews, balance validations, and reporting
  • Monitor and manage aged items primarily from a query resolution standpoint rather than collections focus

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
