Finance Assistant Opportunity
Finance Assistant opportunity with a successful, growing business offering a supportive team environment and progression.
Location: Hertford
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000
We are working with a successful and growing business based in Hertford who are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their established finance team.
This is a broad and varied position, offering exposure across transactional finance, VAT, expenses and payroll, with plenty of opportunity to develop and take on additional responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raising invoices and supporting with sales ledger duties
- Setting up new customer accounts and resolving account queries
- Assisting with quarterly VAT returns and wider VAT administration
- Processing employee expenses and credit card claims
- Supporting with monthly payroll and pension administration
- Maintaining accurate finance records and reconciliations
- Assisting with reporting and general finance administration
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties

The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance position
- Ideally studying towards an AAT qualification
- Experience using Sage 50 would be beneficial
- Good Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident managing a varied workload within a busy environment
- Keen to learn and continue developing within finance
