Finance Assistant
Wynne Construction is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Accounts team on a part-time basis, working 3 or 4 days per week.

The role would suit someone with finance or accounts experience who enjoys working accurately, collaboratively, and in an organized way, with opportunities to further develop their knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities
As Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing subcontractor payments, including assessing Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions and Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) VAT.
- Reconciling and preparing monthly CIS returns.
- Issuing CIS statements to subcontractors.
- Managing subcontractor retentions.
- Processing and reconciling company credit cards and petty cash.
- Supporting and providing cover for other members of the Accounts team when required.
- Assisting with the preparation of job costing reports.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider Finance team as required.

Key Working Relationships
You will work closely with:
- Finance Manager and Accounts team.
- Quantity Surveying (QS) team.
- Colleagues across the wider business.
- Clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Experience and Knowledge
We welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate relevant skills and experience. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or similar role.
- Knowledge or experience of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and Domestic Reverse Charge (DRC) VAT.
- Experience within the construction industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
Skills and Competencies
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting software. Experience with Sage and Eque2 Construction Manager would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
- A consistent and accurate approach to work.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage priorities and meet agreed deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across the team.
