We have partnered with an established and growing property finance business to recruit a Finance Assistant to join its busy Finance team.
About the Role
This is a varied role where you’ll play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payment processes, managing reconciliations and providing high-quality financial support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Finance Assistant, you’ll take ownership of a broad range of day-to-day finance activities, including:
- Administering financial processes and ensuring records are accurate and up to date
- Reconciling payments, invoices, income, receipts and accounting data
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
- Monitoring and reconciling employee expenses
- Reconciling stakeholder payments and statements
- Maintaining and updating financial ledgers
- Supporting third-party payment reconciliation and self-billing processes
- Preparing and submitting compliance information
- Verifying expenses, bank deposits and payments
- Identifying discrepancies and escalating issues where appropriate
- Creating and maintaining spreadsheets, reports and financial data
- Supporting annual budgeting and rolling forecasting activities
- Gathering financial and non-financial information from departments across the business
- Providing professional support in response to payment requests and financial queries
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar finance role and is comfortable working in a busy, commercially focused environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar finance position
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience using accounting or financial software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across different teams and levels of seniority
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- The confidence to challenge processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- A genuine interest in learning, developing and building your finance career
Experience within financial services, property finance or another regulated environment would be advantageous, although the right attitude and transferable experience are equally important.

Requirements
- You must have full right to work in the UK
- This role is hybrid working and will require 3 days per week in their offices in Liverpool
