What’s the role?

Finance Assistant (AR)

About The Ned:

The Ned City of London launched in 2017, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club - a private members’ space, gym, and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a full floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars, and 250 hotel bedrooms.

As part of our finance department, you will:

  • Manage and reconcile multiple bank accounts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and variances are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures across the hotel, ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate weekly Credit Control meetings, providing insights on debtor performance, collection activities, and aged debt management.
  • Maintain and ensure that all the Hotel commission claims/invoices are thoroughly checked and processed for payment on a weekly basis.
  • Process and reconcile membership revenue transactions on a weekly and monthly basis, producing detailed reports and distributing them to relevant stakeholders across the business.
  • Support the Finance Manager with month-end activities, including journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, and other key accounting processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
