Are you an experienced Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Finance Administrator looking for your next opportunity?
We’re working with an established business that is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll provide essential support across the Finance function, handling a varied mix of transactional finance, accounts payable and administration.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in getting the detail right and likes being part of a busy team where their work genuinely keeps things moving.

- Processing supplier invoices and managing the approval process.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice and purchasing queries.
- Processing employee expenses and bank postings.
- Supporting VAT and CIS returns.
- Applying appropriate financial coding and basic VAT treatment.
- Supporting account reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Providing general finance and month-end support to the Finance Manager and wider team.
- Managing the Finance mailbox and post, ensuring queries and documents are dealt with promptly.
- Responding to routine finance queries from colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Liaising with internal teams and suppliers to resolve discrepancies and outstanding issues.
- Supporting Finance systems and processes and contributing ideas for improvements.

What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate and comfortable working with numbers, with previous experience in a finance, accounts or administrative environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable, Finance Administrator or similar role.
- Experience processing financial transactions and working with numerical information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot and resolve routine discrepancies.
- Good MS Excel skills.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and suppliers.
- A practical, team-focused approach and a willingness to get involved and help wherever needed.
