Scope

Reporting to the finance director the Accounts Assistant role oversees a wide range of duties from maintaining financial records, managing transactions to assisting in budgeting and forecasting. This role will hold responsibilities for ensuring accurate recording of factory costs and inventory whilst business partnering across sales, production & supply chain in a fast-paced FMCG environment. This is a broad and varied role that combines management accounting responsibilities with hands on transactional finance, providing exposure to every aspect of a busy manufacturing finance function

About – Sincereal

Role Purpose

  • Remain a key point of contact for accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank transactions and assist in preparing of weekly rolling cashflow forecast.
  • Perform 3-way match of purchase orders, GRN’s and invoices in ERP system.
  • Support stock control & maintain accurate inventory records by providing analysis on stock movements, supporting cycle counting and reconciliation of inventory to general ledger.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly stock reporting and variance analysis.
  • Completing a daily tracker with key metrics on sales, production throughput, quality and safety.
  • Support team in calculation of yield waste, site waste and production variance reporting.
  • Assist with month end processes including accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate financial data within ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Support cost tracking of raw materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Assist in identifying cost saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Support finance director on internal as well as external audits (Financial, BRCGS, ISO & Others).

What Will Make You Successful

  • Ability to manage high volume transactional data.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, costing and inventory management.
  • Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem solving capability.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines & work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics desirable).
  • Intermediate Excel skills.

What Will You Make Successful

  • You will have experience in procurement, sourcing, negotiation, and contract management within a manufacturing or supply chain environment
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and drive measurable performance improvements
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems and procurement data management
  • Strong commercial mindset with understanding of total cost of ownership and risk management
  • Ability to analyse data, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders and challenge suppliers constructively
  • High attention to detail with a structured, governance-driven approach
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, planning, and quality
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) or equivalent procurement training is desirable
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing and knowledge of supplier quality and audit standards would be advantageous

Desirable skills;

  • ACCA / CIMA part qualified or equivalent. QBE will be considered.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role within manufacturing – desirable.
  • Experience with stock control or cost accounting - desirable.
  • Understanding of production processes - desirable.

Working Conditions

This role operates in a food manufacturing environment with regular time on the factory floor and exposure to noise, dust (grain), moving machinery, temperature variation, and manual handling activities. Flexibility is required to support shift teams, critical incidents, shutdowns, trials, and business needs.
