Finance Assistant (Oracle) – 3 Month Contract
Location: County Hall, Chichester
Rate: £16.70 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 Month Contract
Working Pattern: Full Time
Office Attendance:
- Initial full-time office presence for the first 3-4 weeks for training.
- Transition to hybrid work with one day per week in the office (specific day to be determined).
- Pay: Bi-weekly
Summary
We are looking for a dependable and meticulous Finance Assistant to join our dynamic Finance team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting various financial and administrative functions. Ideal candidates will have a background in finance or administration, a knack for numbers, and a commitment to maintaining precise records. Your primary duties will include processing financial transactions, managing data, and ensuring payments are executed accurately and promptly.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices, payment requests, and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and maintain financial data for reporting purposes.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.
- Keep precise financial and administrative records.
- Handle substantial volumes of sensitive data with precision.
- Address inquiries from customers and colleagues professionally.
- Clearly and confidently explain basic financial information.
- Utilize Oracle and other financial systems effectively.
- Assist the Finance team with various administrative and financial tasks.
- Adhere to established financial procedures and processes.

Essential Requirements
- Prior experience in finance, accounts, or administrative roles.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in handling financial information and records.
- Competence in using IT systems and databases.
- Solid working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Capability to work independently and manage routine tasks.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfort with handling large volumes of sensitive information.

Desirable
- Experience with Oracle Financial Systems.
- Background in Local Government or Public Sector.
- Familiarity with invoice processing and payment procedures.
- Experience in a finance or accounts payable setting.
