Team Overview

The Finance team has approximately 12 people and looks after the firm’s financial matters, playing a huge role in supporting the business on a day-to-day basis. The team is relied upon to provide timely and accurate financial statistics, reports, and accounts. The collaborative nature of Buzzacott means that we work closely and build meaningful relationships with colleagues from different teams, enhancing both professional growth and understanding the Firm’s broader needs.

Role Overview

In addition to working closely with colleagues across the business, supporting the Finance team with reporting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and process improvement initiatives, you will study towards the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and analytical graduate to develop a broad understanding of how financial and procurement processes support business performance. You will play an active role in core finance activities including, purchasing administration, spend analysis, and supplier invoice verification against approved purchase orders and contracts.

This role offers valuable exposure to a wide range of finance and procurement responsibilities, providing a strong foundation for a long-term career in the profession.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support supplier invoice processing and escalate any purchase orders, pricing, or contract discrepancies to the Procurement Manager.
• Support the employee expenses process from receipt through to payment.
• Investigate invoice queries and liaise with suppliers and stakeholders where required.
• Work with the Payments and Purchase Ledger Controller to ensure supplier transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for review.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations such as the provisions, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
• Support month-end and year-end finance processes.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Assist the Financial Controller with twice yearly budgeting and continuous expenditure monitoring.
• Ensure supplier invoicing processes follow firm policies and approval requirements.
• Assist the Financial Accountant with the annual audit visit, providing relevant information or supporting documentation during the course of their visit.
• Provide general support across the wider Finance team.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis requests.
• Be proactive and take responsibility for becoming fully familiar and confident with all the firm’s IT policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance and helping to promote these policies within the firm.
